Eustis Engineering ensures the quality of our laboratory operations on a regular basis. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers inspected our testing program in 2008. The AMRL and CCRL Groups of AASHTO inspected our facilities and programs in 2009. Our laboratories were approved by these agencies.

Eustis Engineering's laboratories have been inspected and accredited for the quality system requirements of ASTM D 3666, ASTM D 3740, and AASHTO R 18. Compliance with these quality system specifications may be considered equivalent to compliance with ASTM E 329.

Both our Metairie and Gulfport laboratories are accredited with the AASHTO Materials Reference Laboratory in the areas of soil, aggregate, and Portland Cement concrete. Our laboratory in Metairie is also accredited in the area of hot mix asphalt.

Our laboratory testing follows procedures dictated by ASTM, ACI, LaDOTD, MDOT, AASHTO, FAA, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Our testing capabilities include:

• Classification tests,
• Grain size analyses (sieve and hydrometer),
• Triaxial compression shear tests (drained and undrained),
• Direct shear and direct simple shear (DSS) tests,
• Permeability tests,
• Swelling pressure and consolidation testing (2-in. and 4-in. diameter samples),
• Compaction testing on clay, sand and aggregate,
• California Bearing Ratio (CBR) tests, and
• Settling column tests.
