Driven piles are a predominant foundation type in southeast Louisiana and the Gulf Coast. Dynamic pile testing (DPT) using a Pile Driving Analyzer (PDA®) is an effective means of evaluating pile driving hammer performance, compressive and tensile pile stresses, energy attenuation, dynamic pile capacity, pile integrity, pile alignment, and pile bending stresses during driving.
Eustis Engineering has offered DPT services since the late 1990s. We can also evaluate pile capacity at the time of DPT using Case Pile Wave Analysis Program (CAPWAP®) computer analyses. The PDA has become invaluable during the driving of test piles and job piles. We have used dynamic pile technology on hundreds of projects to benefit our clients prior to final design and during construction operations. This benefit is realized in terms of reduced construction costs and reduced risk for the owner and all parties involved in the foundation design and construction. Members of our engineering staff maintain DPT certification with Pile Dynamics, Inc. Our engineers are able to perform DPT on steel, concrete and timber piles in a variety of site conditions. We are capable of remotely monitoring piles during driving using wireless computer technology. We can also use wireless PDA gauges when site conditions are demanding. We own and operate all of our equipment.
